Charles,

I meant to say the direct heir would not take the throne, not offspring.

hot chocolate said: " Not only did God take the heir to the throne, he also took the throne and showed the world just how great He was. This was catastrophic for Egyptians because now someone else not of the direct offspring of the Pharaoh would assume authority, but God has often showed that He will not share His glory with another. But, we know that story..." i am interested in the conclusions that you draw here. why do you say God took the throne? also, why do you say that someone not of the direct offspring of the pharaoh would assume authority in egypt?

Hutch,

It is funny that people can still "serve" others without serving their spouses. To be even more clear, you will not serve, love, surrender..... others either. You just won't let anyone as close as your spouse so you don't have to worry about it. I love your wording though.

Amen. I once confronted a "Christian" couple who were getting a divorce with this: Have you ever considered being Christlike and forgiving your spouse? But you don't know what they have done! What about not being a unmerciful servant and forgiving the smaller debt of your spouse in light of the insurmountable debt you had cancelled in Christ on your behalf? But you just do not know Mike! How about expressing your new nature in Christ? What about the love of God poured into your heart through the Holy Spirit that was given to us? What about the new heart? What about the circumcised heart? What about love, joy patience, goodness, gentleness...etc.

Why is your supposedly circumcised heart so hard?

Why can you not forgive and allow Christ to do a miracle in your life/marriage?

Why won't you die to yourself?

You can't express the nature of Christ towards your spouse?

Hmmmmmm. I'd be fearful...be afraid, very afraid. Something is horribly wrong.

Why is the Holy Spirit not bringing conviction into your heart?

some would have it that the pharisees were trying to trick Jesus, that this was about herod, who had divorced his wife and married his brother's wife, his other brother's daughter. it was for denouncing this that john the baptizer was executed.
